Everything Looks Different?
Unlike desktop applications, both OneDrive and PowerPoint Online are constantly evolving much faster. That may explain why screenshots on this page sport an interface different from what you see when you log in.
There are two ways to get more Templates within PowerPoint Online:
- Open the Presentation Gallery and click the See more templates link, highlighted in red within Figure 1.

As marked in Figure 3, above, you can search for the templates in 3 major criteria, that are explained below:
A. Favorites By App
Click to see three more options: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, as shown in Figure 3 above. Excel option will provide you with templates for Excel only. Similarly, the PowerPoint and Word options will provide you with templates for PowerPoint and Word only. You just need to click on the required template to download it.
B. Category
Click to open a list of various categories as shown in Figure 4. Use the scrollbar to see more categories.

Click on any category to bring up templates for that category. In Figure 5 you can see that we have selected the Winter category, as shown highlighted in red within Figure 5 and on the right side of Figure 5 you can see the templates for Winter category. Use the scrollbar towards the right of the templates to access more templates within the selected category. Search for the required template and just click on it. This will open a window with some information about the template being downloaded, as shown in Figure 7. Click the Download button to download the template to your local drive. If you downloaded a PowerPoint template, you will need to open it in a desktop version of PowerPoint. Then save the template file (POTX) as a normal PowerPoint file (PPTX). Then you can upload this PPTX file to OneDrive, as explained in our Uploading PowerPoint File to OneDrive tutorial. You can similarly upload any template, including the ones you download from another template site.
